Prestations d’un régime complémentaire de retraite

Responsabilité : Régie des rentes du Québec

Many employees participate in a supplemental pension plan, commonly called a pension fund. You should check with the plan administrator to find out if a death benefit is available. Generally, the administrator's contact information can be found on the statement the deceased received. For general information, you can contact the organization that oversees the plan.

Private and Municipal Employees
The Régie des rentes du Québec (RRQ) oversees supplemental pension plans offered by private and municipal sector employers who operate under provincial jurisdiction. You can obtain information by calling 418-643-8282 or 1-877-660-8282.

Who is this service for?

For you, if you:

  • are a member of a pension plan;
  • are a professional concerned with pension plans;
  • are a pension plan administrator.

What is the purpose of this online service?

You will get:

  • the name of the plan
  • the plan's registration numbers (Régie des rentes du Québec and Canada Revenue Agency)
  • the name and address of the plan administrator's representative, i.e. the contact person.

What plans does this service include or exclude?

The service includes pension plans currently supervised by the Régie des rentes du Québec.

The service excludes:

  • Inactive or terminated plans;
  • Plans with 9 or fewer members, with the exception of Simplified Pension Plans (SPPs).

If a pension plan includes Quebec workers and workers from other provinces or territories, it may be under the supervision of another organization, elsewhere in Canada, whose mandate is similar to that of the Régie. It is therefore possible that the plan may not be included in the list provided by this service, even though the organization must ensure, on behalf of the Régie, that the rights of Quebec workers comply with the Supplemental Pension Plans Act.
